The opening concert of a six-week visit to Pittsburgh by the Violins of Hope, instruments rescued from the Holocaust. This program of music related to the Holocaust and the Jewish experience will be performed by Duquesne University faculty and guests from the Pittsburgh Symphony, concluding with a performance of Barber’s Adagio for Strings by the Duquesne Chamber Orchestra, using instruments from the Violins of Hope collection.
